The purpose of the Cultural Experiences Coordinator role is to organize camp tourism services and other logistics for Tlicho Adventures Ltd. Duties will be carried out safely, and you will work in conjunction with the team, in Whati.
Scope
Reporting to the Director of Tourism, the Cultural Experiences Coordinator ensures optimal guest experience, along with timely and efficient logistics set up and coordination for tourism activities and goods that are requirements for the operations such as materials and groceries. The incumbent will play a key role in projecting a high quality, professional, and respectful image for the company.
Responsibilities
- Logistics and Operations
- Communication with tour operators for reliable and safe guest services.
- Tracking incoming shipments of groceries and materials.
- Ensuring guests sign required documentation and verify identification.
- Confirm Cultural Liaisons and assist guests to their activities.
- Ensure guest rooms are cleaned and sanitized between stays and assign guest rooms.
- Assist with booking additional touring and accommodation, when necessary.
- Installation and activation of experiences around the camp in a safe manner (parking, teepee, archery, snowshoes etc.)
- Expediting
- Coordination of recycling, garbage, items for repair etc.
- Receiving grocery orders and putting them away.
- Guest experience
- Maintaining excellent customer relations and quality services.
- Ensuring that guests arriving to Whati experience a professional, informative, and welcoming tour.
- Ensuring that guest concerns/issues are remediated appropriately and timely throughout their stay.
- Ensuring that guests needs/requests are met wherever possible.
- Troubleshooting any logistical issues that arise
- Calling Cultural Liaisons, reminding them of their scheduled times and ensuring they know where to be and when.
- Promoting a company culture that fosters teamwork, encourages top performance and high morale.
- Following, applying, and adhering to TIC’s established policies and procedures.
- Supporting and assisting the Director of Tourism in operational items as required.
- In conjunction with the Whati Winter Tourism Camp, and Director of Tourism, act professionally and maintain alliances and partnerships with local businesses, vendors, partners and other relevant/related organizations.
- Other duties as required to support the ongoing business operations and programming.

- Class 5 driver’s license.

The incumbent may need to:
- Lift and carry loads up to 50 lbs.
- Sit for over 1 hour.
- Stand for over 1 hour.
Environmental Conditions (examples)
- Work in environmental extremes (extreme heat or extreme cold and variable weather conditions) for over 1 hour.

- Perceive fine visual detail and differences in color and scents for hazard identification and incident investigation.
- Acute sense of detail required.

- Emergency situations may create stressful situations in which the incumbent’s mental abilities are challenged.
