With the new year brings a new store!
With the shell of the store being brought over on the Winter Road, weighing in at an impressive 33,500kg's weight. TRO began gearing up for its new 1,952 sq.ft. building built by NWT Modular Homes which will be situated near the Snare Lake Lodge. The new building comes with a much better floor plan, meets current energy efficiency standards, and is accessible. This is an exciting project that TRO is proud to be working on to enhance our essential services within the community.
The delivery and implementation of the store was handled by Tłı̨chǫ Property Management (TPM) and they worked diligently to meet the deadline of June 30th to have the the store finished in time for the 20th annual gathering hosted in Wekweètì.
The construction of the new store in Wekweètì is a credit to multiple departments within TIC. firstly to TRO, for managing the store's operations, to TPM for delivery and construction of the store, to TEES for building the winter road it traveled through. and TIC's IT department for setting up the stores needed infrastructure to accomplish it's day to day needs and servicing the community.
