About Lac La Martre Adventures

6224 NWT Ltd. (O/A Lac La Martre Adventures) is 100% Indigenous owned by Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation under the tourism division, Tłı̨chǫ Adventures Ltd. Guests arrive at the dock to embark on an unforgettable trophy fishing experience under the midnight sun or the magic of the Aurora Borealis in the pristine and remote wilderness of the Northwest Territories and within Tłı̨chǫ Lands.

The lodge neighbours the Tłı̨chǫ Dene community of Whatì, approximately 37 kms (away on Clemy Island. The area has long been traditional hunting and fishing grounds for the people who have and do reside here.Lac La Martre is the third largest lake in the Northwest Territories.

Guests fly by floatplane to and from the capital of the Northwest Territories, Yellowknife.

Scope of Work

Lac La Martre Adventures seeks a talented Tłı̨chǫ artist to create a distinctive, on-brand painting for our 8' x 12' sign to welcome people to the lodge. The sign should be able to withstand all weather conditions (wind, snow, ice, rain, sunlight) for at least 5 years. The artwork should celebrate the land, water, people, and history of the Lac La Martre region, and include the name “Lac La Martre Adventures” in a style that is easy to read.

The selected artist will design, paint, and install an outdoor sign that reflects the unique beauty and cultural significance of the area, emphasizing the Tłı̨chǫ Lands, water, and the neighbouring community of Whatì. The artwork should resonate with the spirit of the lodge and convey a sense of environmental sustainability for future generations.

Key Objectives

The sign should capture the essence of Lac La Martre and represent the natural beauty, waterways, and historical significance of the region. It should also incorporate the following:
