Tłı̨chǫ Adventures Ltd. is 100% Indigenous owned by Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation. We are currently looking for a Two Cultural Cooks to join our team. The Full-time cook will be working Monday to Friday and the Part-time cook will be working Saturdays and Sundays.
Based at the Whati Cultural Tourism Camp, the cooks are responsible for preparing cultural breakfast, Lunch and dinner meals for the guests under the tourism division, Tłı̨chǫ Adventures Ltd.
Responsibilities:
• Preparing food for breakfast, lunch and supper for guests
• Knowledge of cooking procedures and methods. Menu plans will be basic and easy to prepare, based on country foods and/or locally sourced ingredients as much as possible.
• Safe handling and storing products properly cooking procedures and methods
• Monitoring and ordering food and supplies
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary work area including the fryers, grills, tables, shelves, refrigerators. etc
• Maintaining an organized kitchen
• Providing basic housekeeping duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and cleaning and sanitizing motel rooms and general areas.
Requirements:
• Excellent customer service skills
• Proven experience as a cook and housekeeper
• Ability to work independently without supervision
• Ability to speak the Tłı̨chǫ language an asset
• Food Safety Certification and WHMIS, or willingness to work towards certification.
• Good computer skills using Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Tour Itinerary runs in 3-day cycles:
- Day One – Guests arrive for Dinner
- Day Two – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Day Three – Breakfast, bagged Lunch
