Call for Expressions of Interest for Tłı̨chǫ Cultural Leaders
Tłı̨chǫ Adventures is seeking expressions of interest from Tłı̨chǫ citizens and residents of Behchokǫ̀ and Edzo to lead engaging programs at North Arm Territorial Park for visitors this summer. As the contractor for NWT Parks, we aim to offer visitors meaningful experiences that celebrate special events and the Tłı̨chǫ culture and language, while teaching some valuable skills. Here are some ideas of what skillsets we are looking for:
Program Ideas:
- Bannock & Tea Experiences
- Northern & Dene Games
- Photography Workshops
- Language programming
- Beading & Traditional Crafting
- Kids’ Activities (games, painting, storytelling, nature-based play)
- Drumming & Handgames
- Storytelling & Legends
- Foraging & Medicinal Walks
- Birdwatching & Wildlife (identifying footprints, common species)
- Survival & Bushcraft Skills
- Other Cultural or Nature-Based Activities
- Victoria Day, National Indigenous Peoples Day, Canada Day, Canada Parks Day, ̨ Tłı̨chǫ Day, and Labour Day
Details & Requirements:
- Events will run between May 15 – September 15, 2025
- Honoraria and/or fees are available depending on event scope
- Programs should be engaging, accessible, and suitable for a general audience
- Priority will be given to Indigenous-led activities and local experts
- Sessions can be one-time workshops or recurring events
