We are currently recruiting for the following 14-month term position located at the Diavik Diamond Mine Site:
Excavator 349 & Telehandler Operator
As part of the overall Solar Panel Project you must be an experienced equipment operator with training on the following equipment:
- Skid steer loader - Bobcat S300 or similar with smooth edge bucket and forks;
- Telehandler with forks - JCB 555-170 or similar;
- Boom man lift - JLG 450AJ or similar;
- Excavator - CAT 349 or Kubota KX80 or similar;
- Wheel loader - Komatsu WA250 or similar with bucket, forks, and gravel spoon bucket available
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Experience on the equipment listed above.
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
- Have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Minimum Qualifications (equivalencies will be considered):
- Minimum three years experience working as an equipment operator in a heavy industrial setting, preferably mining or mineral processing.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
This position requires an individual with a proven ability to work in a cross cultural, diverse environment demonstrating cultural awareness and sensitivity. All candidates must be open and flexible to perform other duties as required.
This 14-month term position is site based with a 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off, day shift and night shift, rotational schedule; 12-hour shifts. Successful security and medical clearances are required (confirmed criminal record history, medical and drug & alcohol tests).
For remote camp based purposes, our client requires proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a vaccine approved for use in Canada.
