As crews begin working southward from the communities, we must emphasize that the winter road is closed to all public access. For your safety and the safety of our crews, it is critical that everyone stays off the Right of Way until the road is officially opened. Unauthorized access not only puts lives at risk but also disrupts the construction process.

Weekly Safety Share #48 - Working in the Cold

This week is promising to be cold.  With highs for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday not to exceed -28oC, we have to ensure we’re protecting ourselves and our co-workers from cold related hazards.  I’m in the process of updating the Cold Weather Safe Work Practice to align with the NWT Code of Practice for Thermal Conditions.  In the meantime, I’ve attached it

TEES staff completed training courses!

At Tłı̨chǫ Engineering and Environmental Services Ltd., safety and preparedness are top priorities. This December, we hosted vital training sessions to enhance our team’s capabilities for the Winter Road Construction Project.

On December 2–3, Arctic Response conducted training at TIC Corporate, certifying participants in WHMIS, TDG, and Spill Response Levels 1 and 2. They learned about SDS, spill reporting, and safe cleanup, and even participated in outdoor mock drills. The session included one Tłı̨chǫ member from our GMRP staff, further strengthening community collaboration.
