TIC CEO Talking Future Shaping with Indigenous Businesses at the Northwest Territories Legislature.

Yesterday’s meeting at the NWT Legislature to discuss the future of business included Paul Gruner from the Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation (TIC), Mark Lewis from Det’on Cho Management, Leigh-Anne Palter from Denesoline Corporation, Marc Whitford from North Slave Métis Association, and Nigel Wodrich, advisor at the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly. They discussed navigating the economic challenges facing the territory, and the vital role of partnerships among and with Indigenous governments with Indigenous organizations. Discussions focused on preparing for the impact of upcoming diamond mine closures, various ways of creating a more diverse economy, and the importance of developing the NWT’s workforce, reinforcing the understandings that true partnerships will allow us to advance economic development in the Territory. At TIC, we continue to define, create, and pursue opportunities to build prosperity in our communities and with our neighbours.
